Jennifer Gunnell

Attorney Jennifer Gunnel has joined The Cowlitz Law Group as of-counsel. Her extensive experience, profound knowledge, and exceptional client representation align with our dedication to legal excellence.

A graduate of the University of California-Los Angeles, Jennifer holds a Juris Doctorate and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Psychology from the University of California-Santa Cruz, equipping her to approach legal complexities with a unique perspective.

Jennifer’s legal versatility comes from her diverse roles. As lead prosecutor at Washington’s Attorney General’s Office, she handled sexually violent predator petitions throughout Washington State, conducted robust motion practices and extensive discovery, including expert witness depositions. She led multi-week jury trials, argued matters before the Court of Appeals, and directed trial teams of attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants.

At Snohomish County Legal Services, Jennifer advocated for social justice as a Family Law Staff Attorney, representing survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at all litigation stages.

Her role at the American Civil Liberties Union included coordinating complex civil litigation at state and federal levels and negotiating multi-million dollar lawsuit settlements.

Certified by the California and Washington State Bar Associations, Jennifer’s legal prowess is evident. Her skills in research, drafting, negotiation, case management, and public speaking make her an invaluable addition to our team.
