Andrea Poplawski, an accomplished lawyer with over 21 years of experience, has established herself as a formidable advocate in family law. As a single parent, her journey began with an academic career in Public Policy at Penn State University. Her pursuit of academic excellence and leadership skills then led her to Harvard University for graduate school, where she was recognized for her exceptional leadership and communication abilities. Poplawski’s path then led her to the Pacific Northwest, where she attended Gonzaga University School of Law accompanied by her young son, demonstrating firsthand her ability to balance family life and a demanding career.

Upon earning her Juris Doctorate, she joined the Center for Justice, where she practiced family law and employment law, and supervised the Community Advocacy Department. Her dedication and legal acumen led to her selection as an Equal Justice Works Fellow. In 2002, she was among only 40 recipients nationwide of the prestigious two-year Equal Justice Works Fellowship.

Her reputation for exceptional legal service continued to flourish, leading to her receiving the Myra Bradwell Award in 2005. This award, presented by Gonzaga School of Law Women’s Law Caucus, recognized her courage, strength, and commitment to advocating for women and children. Poplawski stands among notable previous recipients of this award, reflecting her significant impact and contributions to the field of law.

In the Spokane community, Poplawski is not only respected but also celebrated, having been voted The Inlander’s Best Attorney. For a decade, she has consistently been recognized as a Top Lawyer in Divorce and Separation in Spokane Coeur D’Alene Living Magazine. Her commitment extended to serving as a Pro Tem Judge in the Spokane County District Court, stepping in for elected judges as needed.

Poplawski’s dedication goes beyond her practice; she believes in the responsibility of attorneys to contribute to the legal community. Her volunteer efforts have been acknowledged with several awards, including Volunteer Attorney of the Year. She has been an active member of the Northwest Justice Project Board of Trustees and chaired the WSBA Character and Fitness Board from 2014 to 2017.

Renowned for her no-nonsense approach, Poplawski is known for her honest and straightforward advice, addressing the good, bad, and ugly aspects of each case.
